Lauren Wingenroth, Editor in Chief

Jayme Thornton

Lauren is the editor in chief of Dance Teacher magazine and the Dance Business Weekly newsletter. She also serves as an associate editor at Dance Magazine. Originally from the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Lauren is a graduate of Barnard College, where she studied dance and English and was an Athena Leadership Scholar. She has performed works by artists like Annie B Parson, Mark Dendy and Reggie Wilson, and has choreographed several original musical theater works. She has presented her research on gender inequity in ballet at the Women in Dance Leadership Conference, and served as an adjudicator at the American College Dance Festival. She previously served as the chair of the Dance/NYC Junior Committee.

Amanda Sherwin, Managing Editor

Lucas Chilczuk

Originally from St. Petersburg, FL, Amanda grew up as a classic comp kid before moving to NYC to double major in Dance and Journalism at Marymount Manhattan College. Upon graduating, Amanda trained full-time in Broadway Dance Center's Professional Semester Program and was the first recipient of the Program's Richard Ellner Scholarship. Amanda continues to perform professionally and is also the Managing Editor of Dance Spirit and Dance Business Weekly.

Amy Brandt, Senior Consulting Editor

Nathan Sayers

Amy has been the editor in chief of Pointe magazine since 2014, following a 19-year dance career. She danced professionally with the Milwaukee Ballet and The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, among others, and performed in honor of Ms. Farrell at the 2005 Kennedy Center Honors. While pursuing her college degree part-time, she began writing extensively for several dance publications, including Pointe's "Ask Amy" advice column. Amy graduated summa cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College with a BA in English and World Literatures, and currently serves on its advisory board. Courtney Escoyne, Senior Editor

Jayme Thornton

A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Courtney danced with Lafayette Ballet Theatre before matriculating to New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she graduated with a BFA in dance. She has performed in works by Karole Armitage, Netta Yerushalmy, Septime Webre, Vita Osojnik, Cherylyn Lavagnino, Giada Ferrone and Fairul Zahid, among others. Nyamekye Smith, Assistant Editor

Leo Patrizi

Nyamekye is the assistant editor of Dance Teacher and Dance Spirit magazine, as well as the Dance Business Weekly newsletter. Born and raised in Miami, she studied dance from middle school through college while competing on dance teams. Nyamekye is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, where she majored in communications, and was one of the first students in the history of the college to minor in dance.
